West African countries talk about how to react to Burkina Faso overthrow

ADIS ABEBA 28 JANUARY 2022 (VOE WORL) West African heads of state have started chats on the best way to react to another upset in Burkina Faso, hours after the tactical junta there pursued for global help.

Tops of the Economic Community of West African States held a virtual culmination, an ECOWAS source said on Friday.

Burkina President Roch Marc Christian Kabore was ousted on Monday by mutineering fighters on the rear of public resentment at his inability to stem brutality assaulting the devastated country.

The 15-country alliance has currently verbally lashed the defeat and in the previous eighteen months has suspended two individuals where upsets have happened.

Just before the highest point, the head of the new junta called for worldwide help.

"Burkina Faso like never before needs its worldwide accomplices," Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba said in broadcast remarks, his first since the overthrow.

"I approach the global local area to help our nation so it can leave this emergency straightaway."

Damiba, 41, is a rising star in the tactical who orders an eastern area that has been seriously hit by assailants.

On Wednesday, he met priests of Kabore's administration, which like the parliament has been disintegrated.

On Tuesday, ECOWAS gave an assertion to say the alliance "solidly censures" the upset, blaming the military for constraining Kabore to leave "under danger, terrorizing and pressure".
