MALI 30 JANUARY 2022 (VOE WORLD) A French trooper has been killed in a mortar assault on the Barkhane military camp at Gao in Mali, French President Emmanuel Macron's office said in an assertion.
The Gao army installation in northern Mali was hit with rockets, France 24 revealed early Sunday.
The Italian Ministry of Defense said that none of the 20 Italian troopers working at the base were harmed.
Italian Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini is intently following what is happening, it added.
Gao, where France's super army installation is situated in Mali, is otherwise called the focal point of Operation Barkhane, which the nation has been doing in the district beginning around 2013.
