No less than 8 dead, 40 harmed in football arena charge

Yaounde, CAMERON 25 JANUARY 2022 (VOE WORLD) The destructive rush broke out external Olembe Stadium before an Africa Cup of Nations football match-up among Cameroon and the Comoros Islands on Monday. The charge was supposedly started by individuals wildly attempting to get into the arena to watch the match - which was won by Cameroon 2-1.


The Africa Cup of Nations is a worldwide football competition - established in 1957 - which is held between African public football crews.


Naseri Paul Biya, who fills in as legislative head of the focal area of Cameroon, let AP know that specialists were all the while surveying the loss of life. AP later announced, refering to a starter report by the nearby wellbeing specialists, that upwards of 8 individuals lost their lives in the occurrence. Somewhere around 40 harmed individuals were allegedly taken to a close by emergency clinic.


A medical attendant at the emergency clinic uncovered that "a portion of the harmed are in frantic condition" and would need to be emptied "to a particular emergency clinic."
